Weird is as weird was once more

From the schizzle-my-fajizzle-swizzle-scat-fat-cat-cravat department:

It is Wednesday. Friday looms before me. It calls to me like a spring bird upon the branch of a tree. It has been a long winter, but the bird knows that soon the branch will sprout little buds. Tomorrow the snow of the week will melt away, and the strong sun of Friday will warm my heart. When Friday comes it will be the spring of this week; it will infuse us all with the promise of a great, wild summer and a quiet, calming and peaceful fall. A slow, relaxing dinner on the back deck on Sunday will bring an end to this great weekly season, and I shall wake up on Monday enmeshed in the dreary, stifling winter of next week.

Now you’re wondering what the hell did I put in my lemonade?

You ain’t seen nothin’ yet, my friend. Read on.

(and unlike last time I won’t stop here and leave you in the lurch. My fingers are the gateway through which a flood of pent up silliness shall flow forth upon this screen)

My brain is like a hot water tank of silliness. The fires of creativity burn beneath it. Eventually the pressure becomes unbearable. This blog is my safety reservoir. When the pressure valve on my brain bursts I drain the excess silliness here.

The fires have been burning hot lately.

There must be a leak in the system somewhere. Just before I came home from work a fair amount of silliness escaped at the office. There was much noisemaking on my part — chicken noises, squawks, singing along with music and other shenanigans. I think my cow orkers are becoming afraid of me.

I’d like to call attention to the coolest thing I’ve seen on the internet today. I don’t know what it is about the big honkin’ eye on that damselfly. It draws my eye. I won’t even try to figure out why.

Although it’s probably an array of eye-segments, the colouration which makes it look like a big pupil is totally amazing. Nature is amazing. I think that it looks like a big pupil on purpose, to cast fear upon its predators. Instinct is a powerful thing, indeed.

I dream of being able to capture moments in time like this with my camera. The worst part is, this picture was taken with the same model camera that I have, and somewhat similar lens equipment. Yet beautiful pictures like this are far beyond my abilities at present. I need to practise more.

  1. PINGBACK […] As soon as I got it and listened to it a couple of times I knew that I just *had* to play it on my Friday drive home (ASIDE: anybody who knows me knows what Friday right after work means to me. My drive home is about 45 minutes. During that time I unwind and change from work mode to life mode. Friday right after work doubles the positive effect on my attitude. See the first paragraph of this post). I had a couple of other songs on my music player that also happened to have some energetic-ness to them, and the total effect for my Friday drive home was pretty amazing. By the time I got to the grocery store I was bouncing on my feet. […]
