Minneapolis, Day 1

DAY 1
* Car parked at work, Bill and I take an undersized cab to the airport. Note to self: request minivan taxis when traveling with booth.
* Check-in agent says our booth bin is overweight, so we took one heavy piece out, wrapped it in a bag and checked it separately.
* Took our oversize stuff to the oversize agent who inspected and swabbed for chemicals. We re-united the separated part with the booth bin.
* In Toronto the luggage handlers apparently couldn’t handle operating the special oversize conveyor belt until we convinced a supervising agent to go down and straighten things out. Waiting for our booth cost us time for lunch but I grabbed a sandwich and drink for the plane.
* Luggage handlers in Minneapolis had no trouble with getting our booth from point A to point B.
* Checked into our hotel and hunted down dinner at The News Room, then set up the booth in the exhibition hall.
* Went for a swim in the pool (over which my room looks), then visited the vending machine for a drink and some ice.
* Hooked up to the ‘net, surfed a bit, took a couple of pictures of the room, then sat down on my balcony to enjoy my drink and read my book (Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett)
Overlooking The Pool
More to come…
Hey your so close but never new you were coming that close. Is your mom still there? The hotel looks real nice. Hope you enjoy your self.
