Photo envelopes

I like to print my own Inkjet photos - yes, I know these aren’t as good as properly exposed photo paper photos: the printed paper is more delicate, the inks can fade (although there are test results that show the newer inks last a good long while), etc. etc. I like to do things myself and to learn about colorimetry / colour management and such things as I’d never learn if somebody else did all the work.
When I find that I have some photos I really like, I can always have the photos I really want printed done up by a local print service provider. Black’s and Costco will do it, though I’d prefer to use somebody, preferably a small independent local company where I can work with them to get my photos done the way I want - as opposed to some supermarket where the photos might be done by some teenager who pushes the “Go” button and shoves the output in envelopes.
Speaking of envelopes, Inkjet photo paper can be delicate. I carried a couple of inkjet prints around in my laptop bag and soon found the printed side was flaking off around the edges. So I came up with this design to protect Inkjet photos, though they can be used for many other things:

In other news, I added more updates to my last post. Specifically, reviews of my geeky gadgets. Whee.
have you had any luck finding local shops to do prints?
