Canada Day in MB, Day 4

Today’s post will be short (yay!) with only two pictures (boo!).
July 2nd, Day 4
We wake up and discover that we’re in a nice warm room instead of a tent, and we won’t have to spend most of the day in a car (not that there’s anything wrong with that) for the third day in a row. After an extra-yummy breakfast by my aunt, hunnykitty and I went off to check out Lake Winnipeg.
We frolicked in the water for awhile with the ever-present trunk frisbee (what, you don’t have a frisbee in your trunk in case an opportunity for frolicking arises?!) and with a new toy we found abandoned on the beach, the Water Bomb. It’s a little cloth ball that has a light sponge inside it, so when you get it wet and toss it to the pretty girl in the white tee shirt, you might get more than you expect. It’s not safe for air travel, though, because it has the word “Bomb” on the side which means you get to go to the S-S-S-Special Room they’ve got reserved at security for people like you.
Then we let the sun be our towel for awhile before heading back. Before we left the cottage, we did a little bit of frolicking on my aunt’s little 4-wheeler:
I Can Has Get the Lead Out?
We stopped at Skinner’s in Lockport for an expensive but yummy diner-style lunch. Then we headed for my cousin’s place out in the country where we’ll leave the trailer for awhile. Helping them set up their outdoor pool turned out, much later, to be a costly event for me - there’s one like it in my backyard now.
We decide to leave, and my aunt accidentally dings my car (it was fine, just a bent panel) before we head over to a pretty good chinese food restaurant, Hung’s. Afterward, we headed to my mom’s place as she’s hosting us for our stay - thanks mom! We moved our stuff into the guest bedroom and settled down to chat a bit in the evening before heading to bed.
Since you read down this far, you get to see one of my favourite pictures from this trip:
Gettin’ Crazy With It
Memorable Moments:
- Driving all slow-like, waiting for my aunt to pass since I don’t know how to get where we’re going
As I’m showing my nephew the inside of our little trailer, a noise followed by my cousing yelling, “MOM! What did you do?!”
Playing in the water at the beach with my hunnykitty; truly on the moments-to-remember-forever list
Next Time
Lots more pictures as we explore the city!
