Memere's 80th Birthday Party

2003 09 28: Sunday, the day of the dinner / party to celebrate my grandmother's 80th birthday. Dinner was at the Springfield curling rink in Dugald, MB (6km east of Winnipeg). 34 people attended, and dinner was excellent. It's been awhile since I've had the opportunity to enjoy good Ukranian eats. Sadly, I only have one good photo. The rest were all too dark.



The party was in the party room (fancy that) at my mom's building in Transcona. 80 people came to visit (quite a coincidence, considering) and much fun (and more eating, surprise) was had by all. Thankfully, photos are a little more plentiful here. As co-hosts, we had many duties, including gofer, waiter, and door attendant. Whee! And of course, once the party was over, we were on the breakdown team. Oodles of corned beef (or is it Montreal-style smoked meat?) found homes in various places and were consumed over the next few days.
